Hi All, I am new hear and am quite impressed with this component. The one drawback I have had with converting my church sites over to Joomla was related to how to handle the online sermons. I have think I am well on my way to getting up and going. I am guessing I can change the look and feel by tinkering with the CSS file to make it look more like my site. The one issue I am struggling with is how to get the player to work in a pop-up player. I have downloaded and installed AVReloaded (not familiar with this either) and that is where I am now. I have played around with the parameters and configurations and searched through the forums and am stumped. If anyone can walk me through it I would appreciate it.

Hi Mike,
I assume you are using BibleStudy version 6.1. Make sure the AVR plugin is published (I think that's automatic with this component's install routine).
When you create a media record (the second step after creating the main study record) choose Use AVR from the drop down menu at the top of that screen. Then the easiest way to link to your media is to use the AVR Button located about half way down. You click on it and then enter either the name of the file or it's url.
If you see some warnings it may be that you need to either create the folders AVR is looking for locally, or go into the AVR settings in the plugin and change where it is looking for local media.
In my case, I use streaming video from Vimeo - I enter the url that Vimeo gives me for my streaming file into the box and when I click into another box AVR chooses my correct video type and allows me to preview it. When I'm satisfied I have the right file and click Insert and it puts the right mediacode into that box in my BibleStudy mediafile record.
Then I choose the image I want to use to represent that file from the drop down and save. That's it.
Does that make sense? Others may have advice on how they use AVR.

Thanks for response Tom,
This is where I am confused: Enter opening and closing codes for AVReloaded like "mp3remote}-{/mp3remote". Be SURE to put a dash (-) between the codes.
See AVReloaded Documentation for more information on codes to use.
You can insert text before the dash or after if you need to. Like:
Adobe Flash Player not installed or older than 9.0.115!
inserts that text before your path and filename (the system removes the -). BE SURE TO SET THE USEAVR PARAMETER ABOVE.
And this is the error I am getting: (Which I think you mentioned in your post)
Error
* JFolder::files: Path is not a folder
* JFolder::files: Path is not a folder
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/riversid/public_html/stage/administrator/components/com_avreloaded/views/insert/view.html.php on line 185

Okay - so you have several ways to go with AVR and Bible Study.
First, make two folders under images/stories. 1 is audio the other is videos - that'll stop the error messages from AVR
If you are linking to a local video that's necessary.
There is a mediacode box in BibleStudy as you know. It can be used to enter the code for your video, or you can let the component use your server/folder/filename instead. If you want to enter the code yourself, use the AVR button, or just type in the code like
Adobe Flash Player not installed or older than 9.0.115!
and leave the server/folder/filename blank.
Or, just enter a {vimeoremote}-{/vimeoremote} (or whatever AVR says is the remote code) and put in a server/folder/filename (or just a filename if you want) I used to use Google Video so I would put in the long code they gave me in the filename, while putting the dash in the mediacode box.
The component will replace the dash with your server/folder/filename or just use the mediacode if you put more in there.

Hi Tom,
I am still trying here but if you look at your post you will see that when you are telling me what the code should look like I can't see it because it replaced the code with the actual video link. I had the same problem when I was posting my errors above so had to use different brackets.
Thanks,
Mike
I also have added the folders audio and video under images/stories and am still getting same error message.

Oh - I guess that was a real video code? There should be a parameter to choose window popup or lightbox. Is it in Administration or the Template? Not sure. The code I was trying to enter would be like (vimeo)12345654(/vimeo)
