TOPIC: Ideal MP3 conversion bitrate to use

1 year, 12 months ago Ideal MP3 conversion bitrate to use #263

I have a question regarding MP3's and ideal bitrate to use with the component.

Does anyone know what the ideal - or minimum - bitrate is, if you want your listeners to listen via the included MP3 player?

With another online player, it required MP3's at 128kbps or else your audio sounded like chipmunks! 128kbps is great, but it's a huge file to download.

Any helpful hints anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

The Lord bless thee!

Drew:

We use CDEX to encode our CD's to mp3.

Windows MP3 Codec
Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer 3 Codec (Advanced)
32 kbit/s 22,050 Hz Mono
On the Fly MP3 encoding
High Quality

That turns a 40 minute CD into about 10 megs with really good quality. You can sample them on our church site: www.CalvaryChapelNewberg.org
